The period ranging from ten to fifteen years before menopause has occurred, is referred to as perimenopause. Sometimes, ovaries are removed surgically. This is done during hysterectomy. This is called as surgical menopause. There are certain symptoms of perimenopause as well as menopause. Various treatments are available for it. Menopause is usually experienced by women who are reaching their fifties. Menopause is a very important stage in a woman’s life and adequate information should be obtained regarding it.
Normally, when women are experiencing menopause, they experience irritation and depression. Some studies have indicated that reduction in the level of estrogen could bring about certain changes in the brain. This could result in depression. There may be other symptoms that are experienced during menopause. Women may experience fatigue, sweating during the night, hot flashes, etc. There might be problems during sleep. These symptoms are sometimes combined with hormonal changes. Certain symptoms can be caused without any relation to menopause. Sometimes these different symptoms have an adverse impact on life. In such a case, the doctor needs to be consulted.
Certain changes begin to appear during bleeding when you are nearing menopause. Such changes are quite normal. The level of estrogen in the body begins to fall drastically after menopause. The tissues that line the vagina could become thin. Their elasticity may reduce and they may dry out. At times, this particular lining can break which may result in bleeding. Bleeding may also occur due to inflammation. Injury may be caused to it during sexual intercourse. This may also cause bleeding. In spite of bleeding being normal, it is advisable to consult the doctor if bleeding occurs.
There are times when there may be an occurrence of abnormal bleeding. Abnormal bleeding can occur due to various reasons. Fibroids may be responsible for abnormal bleeding. If birth control pills are being used, it could result in abnormal bleeding. An imbalance in the hormones is an important factor that causes abnormal bleeding. In addition to these factors, abnormal bleeding could occur due to certain non-cancerous cells growing along the line of the uterus. All these factors should be known and the doctor should be consulted if the need arises. Menopause causes a lot of changes. A better understanding of these factors will help in maintaining a healthy body.
