Menopause in Women

The period ranging from ten to fifteen years before menopause has occurred, is referred to as perimenopause. Sometimes, ovaries are removed surgically. This is done during hysterectomy. This is called as surgical menopause. There are certain symptoms of perimenopause as well as menopause. Various treatments are available for it. Menopause is usually experienced by women who are reaching their fifties. Menopause is a very important stage in a woman’s life and adequate information should be obtained regarding it.
Normally, when women are experiencing menopause, they experience irritation and depression. Some studies have indicated that reduction in the level of estrogen could bring about certain changes in the brain. This could result in depression. There may be other symptoms that are experienced during menopause. Women may experience fatigue, sweating during the night, hot flashes, etc. There might be problems during sleep. These symptoms are sometimes combined with hormonal changes. Certain symptoms can be caused without any relation to menopause. Sometimes these different symptoms have an adverse impact on life. In such a case, the doctor needs to be consulted.
